Matt Orlando is a veteran and former small business owner who is running for re-election because he wants to continue serving his community on a daily basis. During his tenure on the Council, Matt has supported and led many activities and initiatives that benefitted and “laid the foundation” for a quality of life and fiscal policies that Chandler residents and business owners enjoy today.
Matt believes city councils should avoid political games and focus on serving the needs of their residents, and he has a proven track record of delivering for Chandler. A few examples of Matt’s initiatives include implementing neighborhood policing, expanding fire and medical services, renewing the city’s emphasis on parks and recreation programs, and enhancing neighborhood programs to include graffiti removal and practical code enforcement. Matt is asking for your vote so he can continue serving the city he loves.
Matt and Pat, his wife of 44 years, have three children and two grandchildren, all of whom attended and graduated Chandler Public Schools and Arizona Public Universities. In his spare time, he enjoys being and umpire for both baseball and adult and youth softball.
Safe & Stable Neigborhoods
Chandler is one of the safest communities in Arizona, and Matt led the fight to ensure we have the resources to maintan that safety. During his time on the council, we’ve increased the number of police substations, fire stations, and public safety personnel. Matt is a strong believer in community-based policing as the best way to keep our neighborhoods safe and build trust between public safety officials and all residents of Chandler. This will continue to be a top priority during his next term on the city council.
Supporting Local Businesses, Good Jobs and Economic Development
Since first being elected, Matt has strived to support local businesses while also attracing major industries with good paying jobs. Because of those forward-thinking strategies, we’ve added tens of thousands of jobs over the past decade and have created a vibrant community of locally-owned businesses. And we’re just getting started!
Protecting Our Quality of Life
Whether it’s expanding parks and recreational facilities, fostering collaboration betwen the city and schools to maximize the use of facilities, or strengthening youth programs across the city’s footprint, Matt Orlando has worked hard to ensure Chandler’s quality of life is second to none.
